Reported content gets action

Meet someone's truth.
A quick way to explore the community, one tap and one anonymous story from ICM.
Anonymous doesn't mean unaccountable.
This space exists because people trust it. These rules keep it that way, and they apply to everyone who writes here.
I understand, make a confession-
Everyone behind a confession is a real person in the ICM community: students, faculty, staff, alumni. Treat the words like that matters.
-
Criticism of ideas or campus life is fine. Targeting a person to hurt them is not, and it will be removed.
-
Threats, slurs and hate speech of any kind are removed on sight and may be reported to the appropriate authority.
-
No names, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, room numbers or any detail that identifies a specific person without their consent.
-
This is absolute and non-negotiable. Any such content is removed and reported to the appropriate authority.
-
Share your own experience or perspective. Unverified claims about a named person or office are removed under this rule.
-
If a confession exists mainly to embarrass one person, even without naming them, it will be removed.
-
When in doubt, imagine reading it out loud at a campus assembly. If it would cause harm there, it doesn't belong here.
Ready when you are
Some things are easier to say when nobody knows who you are.

Community Guidelines
Eight simple rules that keep ICM Confessions safe, honest and worth reading. By submitting a confession, you agree to follow them.
Respect everyone.
Every confession comes from a real person in the ICM community: student, faculty, staff or alumnus. Write with that in mind.
No bullying or harassment.
Do not use this platform to intimidate, ridicule or repeatedly target any person or group.
No threats or hate speech.
Threats of violence, slurs and hate speech are removed immediately and may be reported to the appropriate authority.
Do not share someone's private information.
No names, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, addresses, roll numbers or any detail that identifies a specific person.
No sexual content involving minors.
This rule is absolute. Any such content is removed on sight and reported to the appropriate authority.
Don't post accusations as facts.
Share your own experience or clearly framed perspective. Unverified claims presented as established fact are removed.
Don't use the platform to target or humiliate someone.
If a confession exists mainly to embarrass one person, even anonymously, it will be removed.
Keep confessions appropriate for the ICM community.
When in doubt, imagine reading your confession out loud at a campus assembly. If it would cause harm there, it doesn't belong here.
Confessions that break these rules are removed by moderators. Repeated or serious violations may lead to submission restrictions.

Privacy Policy
A plain-language explanation of what this platform does with your submission, and what it deliberately does not claim.
What is public
- Your confession text
- Your anonymous username, for example @SilentSoul
- A randomly generated anonymous ID (e.g. Anonymous #1024)
- The date and time it was posted
- The category you selected (if any)
- Like counts and anonymous comment text
What is never publicly displayed
- Real name or display name
- Email address or phone number
- Student ID or roll number
- Your password, in any form
- Your internal account ID
- Social media accounts
- IP address or device identifiers
Anonymous accounts: what is actually stored
You must be 18 or older to sign up. You create an account with an anonymous username and a password, and you confirm your age at signup. Here is exactly what that account keeps:
- The anonymous username you chose, which is the only part shown publicly
- A one-way hash of your password, salted with your username. Your password itself is never stored or displayed
- Your age confirmation, stored as a simple yes flag. We never ask for or store your date of birth
- An internal account ID, random and never shown on any public page. Other visitors cannot see or search it
- Your submissions and comments, linked to that internal ID so you can manage your own posts
- Your account creation time, used only to show you your own profile history
Your username is a public label you invented, so it reveals nothing about you on its own. Please still avoid usernames that contain your real name, initials, roll number or anything a classmate would recognise.
What we hold for moderation
To operate the platform responsibly, the backend may hold:
- The submitted confession text and its anonymous ID
- Submission timestamps and moderation status (pending / approved / rejected)
- Hashed or limited technical logs (such as IP addresses) used for spam prevention, abuse detection and rate limiting
- Moderator actions taken on a submission (approve, reject, remove), without exposing submitter identity publicly
Public pages show your anonymous username only. An anonymous username gives you public anonymity, not complete technical anonymity: submissions and technical logs may still be stored for abuse prevention, moderation and legal compliance. "Anonymous" on this site means your identity is not displayed to other visitors, not that no data exists anywhere.
Cookies & local storage
This site uses local storage to remember your liked confessions, your anonymous account (username, password hash, age confirmation and internal ID) and, for administrators, your signed-in session. Everything stays in this browser: clearing your browser data removes your account, your session and these preferences. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, session-replay or heat-mapping tools: nothing you type is recorded or sent anywhere, and all processing happens in this browser.
Your choices
You can delete any of your own submissions from your profile page, or sign out of your anonymous account at any time. You may also report any confession that you believe breaks these rules or exposes private information. For data-related questions, use the contact page. For urgent safety matters, please use your institution's official support channels.
About
Built for the ICM community
ICM Confessions is an independent, anonymous feedback and expression space for people connected to the Institute of Cooperative Management, Manipur: students, juniors, seniors, teachers, staff and alumni.
Why it exists
Campus life carries a lot that never gets said out loud: appreciation for a teacher who changed someone's week, a crush that stayed a crush, a funny canteen moment, an honest frustration with an exam schedule. This site gives those words somewhere to go without asking for a name.
It is not an official channel of ICM Manipur, and it is not a replacement for the institute's own feedback, grievance or support mechanisms.
How moderation works
- Every submission starts as pending and is not public by default.
- A human moderator reviews each confession against the community guidelines.
- Approved confessions are published under your anonymous username only.
- Rejected confessions are removed without being displayed; the submitter receives a generic confirmation, not personal details.
- Reported confessions are prioritised in the moderation queue.
For alumni and staff
If you were once part of ICM, you are welcome here too. Keep the same rules you'd want for your own juniors.
